Your Questions, Answered.
-
In Ohio, you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral through direct access. Certain conditions or circumstances may require additional medical consultation or a referral. Communication and collaboration with your physician are always available when appropriate to ensure you receive well-rounded, coordinated care.
-
Connect Core Physical Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows us to provide individualized, one-on-one care without insurance-driven visit limitations. We can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
-
Connect Core Physical Therapy does not participate in Medicare and cannot accept private payment for Medicare-covered physical therapy services. If you have Medicare, please contact us before booking to discuss whether you may be eligible for noncovered wellness or fitness services.
-
Physical therapy services are generally eligible expenses for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Eligibility and payment requirements depend on your specific plan, so we recommend confirming with your insurance provider.

Absolutely! Your pelvic floor doesn't work in isolation. It functions alongside your core, hips, diaphragm, and surrounding muscles. Sometimes persistent hip, low back, or pelvic pain can have a pelvic floor component. Having expertise in both orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy allows us to look at the whole picture.
-
Pelvic health physical therapy focuses on improving the function of your pelvic floor muscles and how they work with the rest of your body. Treatment can help with bladder and bowel concerns, pelvic pain, pain with intimacy, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and more. We look beyond the pelvic floor to address your core, hips, posture, breathing, and movement patterns.
-
Orthopedic physical therapy addresses pain, injuries, and movement limitations involving your muscles, joints, and other connective tissues. Common concerns include back, tailbone, SI joint pain, neck, shoulder, hip and knee pain, joint stiffness, muscle weakness, sports injuries, and recovery after surgery.
-
If you're experiencing bladder leakage, urinary urgency, pelvic pressure, pain with intimacy, difficulty reaching orgasm, constipation, pregnancy, postpartum or discomfort in your pelvis, you may benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy. You don't have to wait until symptoms become severe to seek help. Preventative care and simply wanting to better understand your pelvic health are great reasons to schedule a visit, too!
-
Not at all! In fact, Kegels aren't appropriate for everyone. Pelvic floor therapy looks at the bigger picture, including muscle strength, coordination, tension, breathing, mobility, and daily habits. Your treatment is tailored to what your body actually needs.
-
Your first visit is all about getting to know you! We'll discuss your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. From there, we'll perform a thorough assessment to better understand what's contributing to your concerns. Together, we'll develop a personalized treatment plan to help you move forward with confidence. You will leave with a plan to recovery.
-
Absolutely not. An internal pelvic floor assessment may be recommended when clinically appropriate, but it is always optional and performed only with your informed consent. There are many ways to assess and treat pelvic health concerns without an internal examination. Your comfort and preferences always come first.
